To learn how to reach out to people, she must first become alone. This conclusion Shirakiin Ririchiyo reached might at first appear incongruous. But in fact, it stems from her awareness of the tangled web of lies and faked appearances surrounding her.

With the blood of an ancient demon running in her veins, Ririchiyo was always seen more as a tool than a living child. Her presence was supposed to invite wealth and good fortune, and so she was treated with cold respect, never attacked or demeaned, but never allowed to have a honest conversation with others. Whatever attention and luxury her lineage brought her, however, Ririchiyo would happily exchange it all for a normal family.

Ririchiyo eventually learns to answer the fake politeness around her with her own fake disdain. She dons layer upon layer of armor to protect her true feelings. But the artificial distance she tries to keep between herself and others lies contrary to her kind nature. She might act cold and uncaring on reflex, but she will be beating herself up over it not a moment later. If she is to have any chance of breaking this habit, she must first leave the environment that helped foster it.

Ririchiyo has no idea, though, that her decision to leave her past behind will lead her straight into a whirlwind of crazy events and a passionate love affair…
